A Long Overdue Update

Sorry, I haven't updated in a while. My family and I were sick over the last couple of weeks. Didn't feel much like crafting or blogging. So, here's what I've been up to. I got a new KitchenAid Mixer and have been baking up a storm. I have made a Pineapple Angel Food Cake, a loaf of Banana Bread, and a batch of my favorite French Butter Cream Cookies.

I did manage to crochet an Afghan Stitch Dishcloth for a crochet along today. I used Peaches & Cream yarn in Faded Denim and a size K afghan hook. Here is the result.

I have also been working on a baby sweater and my diagonal baby afghan. I will post pictures of those tommorrow. My goal for this month is to get those two projects completed. Then in March I am going to do

Neuschwanstein is Finally Started!

I was so excited to get the fabric in and finally get this one going. Here is my progress so far.

A Finished Doily!

This Hearts Around Doily pattern was completed as part of a monthly crochet along. It probably took me an hour or hour and a half to finish in between working on the computer and tending to the kids. I wish I had used a solid color for the body as the varigated color hides the detail of the piece in my opinon.

I was also tagged by Pam at Random Thoughts by Pam. She wants to "see" where I do my crochet and other projects. So without further ado......

When I am crocheting or cross stitching, there's no better place than my comfy recliner. I store my current projects in the tote basket in the middle. It has a tray on top that holds a cross stitch project and the bottom is used for crochet projects.

I am in the process of converting one of our bedrooms to an office/craft room. Once it is finished I will have a more permanent home for my sewing machine, serger, and work surface for other crafts. For now our dining room table serves the purpose quite well.

Some Progress and Stash Enhancement

It has been I while since I posted last so I have a lot to show and tell. I'll start with the additions to my stash I got in this week. I got Neuschwanstein Castle which I can't wait to get started on when the fabric comes in, Gathering Pinecones from Hillside Samplings, and a couple of Emmett Kelly jr. pieces I won in an ebay auction.

First Happy Dance This Year!

My take along tote is finished. I am really amazed at how quickly it worked up. This will be a present for my Mom (hope she doesn't read this before she gets it.)

I have also been working on Nautical Light today. I didn't get a lot done on it though because I had some frogging to do first. I must have been really tired when I worked on it last. Anyway here's how it looks so far

First Progress Pic of 2006!

This is the first round of Take Along Tote I am doing for a crochet along. I am using AUNT LYDIA'S® "Denim" in Chambray color. While I love the texture of this yarn, I am concerned it will make the bag less durable. If I ever make this again, I think I will use a heavier weight yarn. Anyway, hope to have round two ready to post soon!

After discovering blogs last year, I decided to create of my own. With this blog, I want to keep track of my stitching progress and hopefully meet new people in the process. Currently my hobbies are crochet, cross-stitch, and sewing. I hope to learn to quilt and maybe make a few pieces of jewelry in 2006.
